How to Make Labels for Materials

Audio cassettes, video cassettes, and other materials in the Language Lab require custom labels. Labels are generated using data from the Language Lab Inventory.

Export Records from Language Lab Inventory

  1. Open the Media Circulation File (MCFile).
  2. Select Start, then Circulation, then Inventory.
  3. Enter the appropriate password.
  4. Perform a search for the material to label. (For example, search by title to locate Japanese: The Spoken Language.)
  5. Select List View from the button at the upper left of the side bar.
  6. Select records to export. (To omit records, from the Select menu choose Omit or Omit Multiple.)
  7. From the File menu choose Import/Export, then Export.
  8. Save the exported records in the ExportMergeFiles2Print folder with an appropriate filename. (For example, JSL.)
  9. Select the following fields to export:
    • Title Edition
    • Stock Number
    • Language
    • Performer/Author/Title
    • Master
    • ISBN/ISSN
    • Total Run Time
    • Copyright Date
    • Publisher Name
    • Side A Contents
    • Side B Contents
    • Tape Length for a Copy
  10. Select Export.

Print Labels using Sticky Business

  1. Open Sticky Business.
  2. From the Open menu choose Label Files.
  3. Select the appropriate label file format.
  4. Select Merge.
  5. Open the ExportMergeFiles2Print folder and select the appropriate filename. (For example, JSL.)
  6. Highlight the starting point on the screen label sheet and select Continue.
