Circulation Procedures for the Language Laboratory


If a student wants to check out an item, you must hold the student's ID until the item is returned. If a professor wants to check out an item, you must note the date and title of the item on the professor's index card. When the professor returns the item, draw a line through the date and title of the item on the index card.

Cassette Tapes

Masters and submasters of cassette tapes are stored in drawers 1-20. They are sorted by language and arranged alphabetically by title. Masters are marked with gold dots and submasters are marked with silver dots. Masters do not circulate. Submasters may circulate only to make high-speed copies in the Language Lab.

Copies of cassettes that are currently in use are stored on the shelves above the drawers. They are sorted by language and arranged alphabetically by title. Copies of cassettes that are not currently in use are stored in drawers 21-33. They are sorted by language and arranged alphabetically by title. Copies may circulate to students only for use in the Language Lab.

Video Tapes

Videos that are currently in use are stored on the reserve shelves. They are sorted by language and arranged alphabetically by title. Videos that are not currently in use are stored on the main shelves. They are sorted by language and arranged alphabetically by title. Videos may circulate to students only for use in the Language Lab.

Video Discs

Video discs are stored next to the reserve shelves. They are arranged alphabetically by title. Video discs may circulate to students only for use in the Language Lab.
