Arboretum Invites You to Free Sunday Afternoon Guided Tours
Starting May 1st to October 30th at 2:00 pm
(except for May 22nd - Commencement day)
Free and Open to the Public

First Sunday – Campus Collection.
Second Sunday – Caroline Black Garden.
Remaining Sundays – Native Plant Collection

Meet at the Blue Sculpture
in front of the Olin Science Center.
Connecticut College at 2 pm

Private Guided Tours:

Single Tour * **

Tour the diverse Native Plant Collection, the exquisite Caroline Black Garden, or the beautiful Campus International Tree Collection. $80.00 for a group of 20 or fewer (add $5.00 for each additional person). The tours take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, but can be tailored to meet the group's needs.

Tour Package #1* **

Tour any two collections. $145.00 for a group of 20 or fewer (add $5.00 for each additional person). Allow approximately 3 hours.

Tour Package #2* **

Tour all three collections at a cost of $195.00 for a group of 20 or fewer (add $5.00 for each additional person). Allow approximately 4 hours

* A 15% discount on tours only is available for all organizations that have a Connecticut College Arboretum Membership.

** Some groups may prefer to make a day of it and include lunch.
A private luncheon at the College's Hood Dining Room can be arranged. The cost is $15 to $17 per person.

Bring a sack lunch and eat in Buck Lodge at no extra cost.

Groups may choose to take one tour, eat lunch, and then take remaining tour(s). All tours can be tailored to meet individual groups' needs.

Directions to the Connecticut College Arboretum

From I-95 North, in Connecticut, take exit 83. Turn left at the end of the ramp and follow Williams Street through the first traffic light and up a short hill. The entrance to the Native Plant Collection is on the left, directly across the street from the Connecticut College entrance at Harkness Chapel. Look for the double wrought iron gates with large golden leaves.

To reach the Caroline Black Garden, cross the Connecticut College campus and exit the main entrance of the College. Turn left onto Route 32, and take a right at the first light at the College Athletic Center, and an immediate right onto Winchester Road. Take a right at the first driveway into the parking lot behind the Career Services building.

From 1-95 South, in Connecticut, take exit 84 North to Route 32 north. To reach the Caroline Black Garden, turn right at the Connecticut College Athletic Center, the third light, and take an immediate right onto Winchester Road, and a right at the first driveway into the parking lot.

From 395 South, take exit 78, which is a left lane exit, to New London. Follow Route 32 south for 2.6 miles. To visit the Native Plant Collection, turn right at the sixth traffic light into the main Connecticut College entrance. Cross the campus and exit the back entrance onto William's Street at Harkness Chapel. The main entrance to the Arboretum is directly across the street.

The Arboretum Office is located in room 103 of the F.W. Olin Science Center on the Connecticut College Campus. Enter the college at the Main Entrance, stay to the right at the fork in the road, and Olin is the first building on your right.

The Arboretum Greenhouse is located in New London Hall on the Connecticut College Campus. Enter the college at the Main Entrance, stay to the right at the fork in the road, and New London hall is the first building on your left. Parking is available directly in front of the greenhouse on your left.

Parking When visiting the Native Plant Collection, cars may park on Williams Street if space is available. Alternate parking is in the South Parking Lot on the main campus. Visitors must obtain a parking permit from the guard house at the main entrance of the College. Busses may let passengers out at the main gate on Williams Street, and then must park in the south end of the South Parking Lot on the Connecticut College campus.
When visiting the Caroline Black Garden, 4-5 cars can usually fit in the parking lot behind Career Services off of Winchester Road. Busses may let passengers out at the entrance to the parking lot, and then must park at the south end of the South Parking lot on the main campus.
