Living in Brazil has taught me that one extremely important aspect of life is entertainment. After Brazilians leave their work place whether it be in a restaurant or in a bank they all look forward to the same thing, their leisure time. It is something that takes them away from the stress of work and brings them together in a familiar environment. For Nikkei-Brazilians living in Oizumi entertainment is essential. Social spaces, like bars restaurants, clubs and sports clubs remind them of home allowing them to escape from the unfamiliarity of their small place in Japan. Where they can relax and continue their search for identity. Is this the place where they feel more at home, where people accept them? "Even though Brazil is my home, I feel like a foreigner there. Here I have my family and my friends and I have built a home for myself", said a Nikkei-Brazilian of his life in Oizumi, Japan
