Cultural Education
Culturally speaking Brazil and Japan are at opposite ends of the spectrum. The Nikkei- Brazilian population has made a great effort to facilitate the adjustment for the newly arrived Nikkeis. They have established various publications and centers to aid the new arrival and any Nikkei that need help. To teach the Brazilians how to behave in Japan is communicated through newsletters and magazines. Newsletters that we came across in Oizumi provided information on everything ranging from how to go about voting to what to wear to their children's graduations. These publication advise the Nikkei- Brazilians how to conduct themselves in this new country. This cultural advice aids the Brazilians in becoming culturally informed and some what accustomed to Japan.
