From the days before comedy had manners comes a story of mistaken identities, undeserved beatings, confusions, crises and a great deal of buffoonery called The Comedy Of Errors.
Two sets of identical twins separated just after their birth end up in the same town on the same day. A master and his servant have no idea of the whereabouts of their long lost twins and the path to their joyful, final family reconciliation is paved with pain of various sorts, confusion and despair. Shakespeare’s early comedy is enduringly popular, loved equally for its manic playfulness and its sophisticated and touching exploration of human relationships. The production will be explore the staging conventions of Shakespeare’s time, influenced as they were by the early travelling Commedia players, to create a high-energy, fast-flowing piece of laughter filled storytelling for a modern audience still tickled by the same feathers as their forefathers.
